EVERY CHILD DESERVES A CHANCE

As a leader in technology and innovation, Silicon Valley’s competitive edge is dependent on highly educated individuals. Yet many students in our community are not thriving in our educational system.

This is particularly true of students who come from low-income backgrounds, attend under-resourced schools, or are among the first in their families to attend college.

• Nationwide, less than 10% of low-income students graduate from college by the age of 25.
• High school students in high-poverty communities often do not graduate with the prerequisites for UC/CSU enrollment due to a lack of guidance, support, and advocacy on their behalf.
• Students who are among the first in their families to consider college often do not receive the support they need to navigate a confusing maze of college and financial aid applications.
